This past May, APPA attended the Green Chimneys Spring Gala where they and other organization partners and individuals were celebrated for their commitment and support of Green Chimneys, who is recognized as a worldwide leader in animal-assisted therapy and educational programs for children with special needs.
For more than 20 years, APPA and Green Chimneys have worked together, sharing a mutual belief in the benefits of human-animal interactions and a commitment to encourage its widespread acceptance. APPA President & CEO, Bob Vetere proudly accepted an award on behalf of APPA from Green Chimneys Founder Dr. Samuel Ross, Jr.
Taking place May 15th at the New York Botanical Garden, the annual gala raised $250,000 for innovative education and animal-assisted therapy programs for children with special needs, and the care of the animals that support these important services. This year’s gala, The Rhythm Of Success, also celebrated the success of students who have successfully benefited from Green Chimneys’ programs.
